Checks that are deposited and returned to the Galveston County Treasurer’s Office for Non- Sufficient Funds (NSF) will be submitted to the DA’s office 60 days after the payee has been notified by Galveston County. Payment must be made in the form of cash, money order, or cashier’s check made payable to the Galveston County Treasurer’s Office.

There is an additional $30.00 returned check fee that must be submitted with the original amount of the check in accordance with Local Government Code Section 118.142. You may contact the Treasurer’s office at 409-770-5395 or the department the check was submitted to.
