The County Budget is managed and implemented by the Department of Professional Services, led by the Chief Financial Officer and the Budget Team.

Mission

Our mission is to efficiently facilitate the use of County resources. We assist County Officials with planning, researching, and evaluating matters concerning budget and policy. We integrate countywide spending and strategic planning with development and implementation of the annual County Budget.

Description of Services

• Mediate between Commissioners Court and the County Departments
• Provide advice and counsel for the County concerning financial matters
• Coordinate and develop the annual County Budget
• Facilitate operating efficiencies throughout the County
• Acts as the Payroll Coordinator of Galveston County. Responsible for overseeing payroll-related deductions, retirement disbursement, and the preparation of all payroll reports.
• Along with the County Auditor, works with approved brokers and banking institutions to ensure the highest possible yield and safest investment returns.
