This is another large species that is found within our county. They are found in the cooler months. Usually prefer domesticated animals but will also feed on humans. Predominately found on the west end of Galveston, Bolivar Peninsula, and the Bayou Vista area.
Larval habitat: fields, ground pools, and freshwater ditches
Adult habitat: fields, marshes and woodlands
Biting activity: dusk and dawn
Flight range: 1-2 miles
